Up for your consideration is a Vintage Maple Walking Stick with a Carved Yorkie Dog Head On Handle made in the 1930's. Description - This walking stick is about 34.5 inches long. Was made out of a Maple. The Yorkie head is part of the same piece. It's an incredible piece of work.
The eyes are made of glass, and the tongue is made of some type of plastic. The claw looks like was made separately (not carved from the same maple branch). I don't know what it is made of, but it is very hard. The stick itself is not very thick. It's only about 5/8 of an inch at its thickest point, so it can't support the weight of a person leaning on it. It's more of carrying piece for show.
The bark is peeling is some areas. The tip that contacts the ground is made of steel.
